"Our granddaughter, Jordyn, (Bobbi and Jeff's daughter) received the nasal spray vaccine for H1N1 on Tuesday of this week and within a half an hour started feeling bad. She developed a fever of 103 and continued for most of Wednesday with it.  She seemed better yesterday (Thursday), but was still not herself.  She woke up this morning and could not walk (her legs were paralyzed).  Bobbi and Jeff have taken her to Sparrow Hospital in Lansing and we are waiting word.  We think she has Guillain Barre and, if so, the, paralysis can spread to her other limbs and her face. We are requesting prayer from you and as many believers as you have contact with."

After 5 weeks intensive care and about 3 months of rehab all function returned with the exception of legs half asleep below the knees. Ask the nurses to tell the child what they are going to do when they move her, and in what direction she will be turned. It seemed to make moves easier. It took him three weeks in the hospital to learn to walk, talk, all over again. It was very hard work but he is normal in those respects now. His short term memory is poor because the paramedic that responded to our 911 call thought he was faking it and by the time she actually got him to the hospital, he had only 5 % oxygen in his blood. Can't sue, as all the records are "missing." We had three firemen come to us to ask us to press charges; we did but to no avail except the paramedic received a reprimand. Will pray for Jordyn.
